Walt Disney passed away in 1966, almost 6 years prior to the opening of Walt Disney World in 1971. At the grand opening, a reporter commented to Walt’s brother, Roy, “It’s too bad Walt did not live to see this.” Roy replied, “Walt saw it first. That’s why we are seeing it now.”
