Oh Hawaii. I got a double-dose of you this year—once with each daughter—and it wasn’t enough.
On the way back from picking up my daughter in Korea, we want to stop in Tokyo, Guam, and Honolulu.
Dreamers gonna dream.

Molokai Coast, Hawaii by Harry Wishard
This book was not what I expected. I expected a sad book about grief and Hawaii that would be painful to read. Instead, it was a pretty funny book set in Kailua (where I used to live) about moving forward (not moving on) that I finished in one day.
Read it and then let’s discuss it.
Required viewing before a trip to Hawaii Nei. Add Blue Crush, 50 First Dates, The Ride, North Shore, and the Modern Family and Full House Hawaii episodes for good measure. And the entire Lost series if you have time.
Next in the series: The Descendants, can’t wait. Reading the book now.
It’s always hard to leave Hawaii. Sometimes I think, “God, why did you ever even show me this wonderful place that’s so expensive and so hard to get to?”

My daughter and I leave Hawaii tomorrow so I started getting sad about it yesterday. This was the view from the back porch of our beach cottage on the north shore. Sigh.

In Hawai’i we greet friends, loved ones and strangers with Aloha, which means with love.
Aloha is the key word to the universal spirit of real hospitality, which makes Hawai’i renowned as the world’s center of understanding and fellowship.
Try meeting or leaving people with Aloha.
You’ll be suprised by their reaction.
I believe it and it is my creed.
Aloha to you.

All the way across the sky!
Hello, Hawaii. Thanks for the rainbow welcome as we drove to our hotel. It’s good to be back.
