Keep the blue side up

My daughter Hannah went to EVERLAND!!!!
From her email:
“That’s right brothers and sisters, I did it. I went to Korea on my mission and I found the closest thing to Disney I could. I’d call this mission a success (but for other reasons, hehe).

We had to get special permission from President because one of our investigators wanted to take us. And she knew a cast member so she got us in for free!!! Lulz! They call them cast members and guests there, too. I know this because there were English signs. Practically everything was in English.

I took a million pics, don’t worry ^^ The only contingency from Pres was to not ride anything dangerous. We barely rode anything at all because there were so many people but I’m not even mad! It’s the smells and music and the atmosphere I wanted to see. The reason there were so many people is because today is a national holiday… Buddha’s birthday! Happy birthday, Buddha!”

Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival April 7, 2012 Part 2
Looking for the stream lined with cherry blossoms.

I hope Hannah is starting to see cherry blossoms where she is serving in Singal, Korea.

I love this blog. It helps me imagine what my daughter is seeing every day in Korea.

WEEK 2 IN KOREA
As I write this, I have a terrible cold, but I just got back from the BATHHOUSE which helped a bit. That was quite an experience, haha. I’m surprised missionaries are allowed to go. The Elders LOVE going! It’s about what you would expect, there are separate male and female bathouses. You go and put your shoes in a locker, then put all your clothes into another separate locker and then… you’re naked in a bathouse with about 30 other naked Asian women just chillin’ in baths.
At first I was like THIS IS WEIRD, but then the baths just felt sooo goood..

My daughter’s second week in Korea and she’s already going to the bathhouses. I’m proud of her.

My daughter Hannah is in Korea by now! I look at this map of her mission and wonder where they will send her first. I didn’t realize before how much of her mission is on the coast. (I guess, when you think about it, MOST of South Korea IS coast.)
BTW, I found out that in Korean, her mission (Daejeon) is pronounced, “TAY-jun.”
